“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality” ~ Yoko Ono

Dear friends, customers and partners,

I am pleased to share with you that Plexxi has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). You can read the announcement issued by HPE here. The last eight years have been an incredible journey for Plexxi, full of massive innovation and opportunity to shape the future of the data center. All this would not have been possible without our amazing team of engineers, administrators, sales and marketing staff, as well as our partners and customers.  Thank you!

Plexxi was born eight years ago with the idea that data center networking should be less complicated and more powerful than it was. By combining software-defined topologies and intent-based automation with workload and infrastructure awareness we set out to change the way IT saw and managed the network. No longer a silo, Plexxi saw the network as an integral part of the data center system – a holistic fabric that not only simplified tasks but also increased efficiency and reduced complexity and cost. It is extremely gratifying to see the industry take this turn with us with the rise of composable data center practices and HCI.

I want to assure you that our mission to build a modern intelligent data center fabric remains.  Both HPE and Plexxi share a vision to change the world by allowing you to deploy composable infrastructure as part of your multi-cloud strategy. We have long admired HPE’s ability to innovate in the data center and their constant desire to build value-add, customer-focused solutions while also having a great team and culture.  From when Bill and Dave started building oscillators in that storied garage in Palo Alto to becoming the world’s leading IT technology company to today with their global reach and influence on technology deployments, HPE is the perfect place for Plexxi to continue to innovate and deliver beyond expectations.

Plexxi and HPE’s values and vision for the future are closely aligned. We share the same mission, to help the enterprise effectively leverage modern IT to accelerate their business in the digital age. With the combination of Plexxi’s innovative network technology and HPE’s software-defined infrastructure and global reach, customers have more options than ever before to chart their own course and maintain competitive edge. In the coming months, we will be sharing additional details on how HPE and Plexxi will be working together. We are excited about the opportunities ahead. In the meantime, we continue to build upon Plexxi HCN. In fact, we just released upgraded interoperability with VMware. Plexxi HCN’s VMware integration simplifies network management for VMware administrators and enables fully-automated network configuration. You can read more about that here.

The Plexxi intent based network is the unifying element not just for HCI environments, but also bare-metal or virtualized compute environment. Plexxi unifying properties have been proven at small or large scale, while delivering greatly simplified users experience.

Again, I want to express my thanks to the talented team at Plexxi for their dedication and hard work that have brought us to this exciting day. We set out to build a technology that would re-define the enterprise data center, and we have done just that. To be recognized by HPE and brought into their family is validation of that mission and we look forward to a long future of success that we look forward to with our customers and partners. Together we will accelerate the realization of the modern data center and work to empower IT to create and deliver value instantly, continuously, and at the speed and flexibility of cloud.
